Islamic Relief Worldwide
Islamic Relief is a faith-based relief and development agency working to save and transform the lives of some of the world’s most vulnerable people. Established in 1984, we now work in over 45 countries assisting individuals, families and communities through emergency response and development projects.
Islamic Relief Worldwide has served the world’s most disadvantaged families and communities for over 40 years regardless of faith, race, disability or gender. Our work spans emergency humanitarian response, food security, clean water, health, education, sustainable livelihoods and the sponsorship of orphaned children, with major programmes across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Our 10-year Global Strategy, grounded in the Maqasid Framework — the Islamic ethical principle that upholds every individual’s right to life, dignity, security, health, education and a just economy — sets out an integrated programme approach: combining emergency response, long-term development and bold advocacy to address not just the symptoms of poverty, but its root causes. Over this period, we aim to save lives and reduce vulnerability to humanitarian crises, empower communities to tackle poverty and advocate for systemic change to eliminate the structural inequalities that drive injustice.
As a shareholder of the ICS Centre, Islamic Relief values the platform it provides to connect with peer organisations, exchange expertise and strengthen our collective ability to deliver impact.
