Founded in London in 1844, the YMCA has grown to reach over 65 million people a year across 120 countries, with nearly 90,000 staff, some 920,000 volunteers and 12,000 branches.

World YMCA is the coordinating body of the worldwide YMCA Movement. Its purpose is to strengthen, connect, and represent YMCAs around the world, enabling them to deliver a greater impact for young people and communities.

World YMCA regularly engages with the activities of the Center at Chair, CEO and senior staff levels, as well as the wider team from around the world. For YMCA the Centre is an excellent opportunity to connect with other ICSOs, coordinate our impact and responses and learn from each other.

Especially given today’s context, global cooperation between ICSOs is becoming critical if we are to survive and thrive, and for us the Centre is one of the key enablers and connectors that can help us build together a stronger ICSO sector.
