Ownership

Founded, and originally owned, by Peter Eigen and Burkhard Gnärig, the Centre’s ownership has now been fully transferred to several of the most eminent international civil society organisations (ICSOs). This means that the Centre is now fully owned by its primary users. Currently, the following organisations each hold an equal share of the Centre:

HelpAge International - owner since 2015

SOS Children’s Villages International - owner since 2012
Transparency International - owner since 2009
VSO International - owner since 2014
World Vision International - owner since 2009

- owner since 2012

Governance

The Shareholders constitute the Centre’s highest decision making body. They meet at least once per year in a Shareholders’ meeting. The last Shareholders’ meeting took place in October 2016 and the next meeting will take place in April 2017.

The role of the Centre’s Board of Trustees is to monitor the management of the organisation. At present the Board consists of the CEOs of eleven of the Centre’s shareholding organisations. The Executive Director of the Centre holds an ex officio seat on the Board. The current Board members are:
