The International Civil Society Centre (the Centre) works with ICSOs to
develop strategies for successfully navigating change. We scan the horizon for
exciting opportunities; enable learning and cooperation among ICSOs and their
stakeholders; support ICSOs with developing effective leadership and promote
robust accountability to strengthen ICSOs’ legitimacy. The Centre is a
not-for-profit organisation fully owned by the organisations it serves. We
strive to set high standards in management, governance and strategy for ICSOs
and the wider sector.
Centre is currently looking for an Events Assistant to join the team!
Hosting conferences, meetings and workshops for the leading ICSOs and
their stakeholders is a core area of the Centre’s work. To implement our
ambitious and high-quality events programme, we are looking for a self-driven,
organised and dynamic team member to apply and further develop their events
management skills. The position is suitable for recent BA or vocational
training graduates in a relevant field (i.e. office administration, event
management, etc.), with initial experience in the logistical preparation and
administration of events, who are looking for an entry-level position in the
civil society sector.
The Events Assistant will mainly work on the following tasks:
- Support the preparation
and implementation of events: venues, accommodation, catering, equipment etc.
- Develop and monitor
work plans for a variety of events at the same time
- Liaise with service
- Prepare participation and speakers lists, including the Centre’s
- Handle correspondences
with participants, speakers and partners
and layout of event documents: reading lists, agenda, evaluations and conference
service: providing a friendly, reliable and efficient service to event
- Conduct internet
research on specific organisations, networks, conferences etc.
- Fulfil other tasks as assigned by the Programme Director
The Events Assistant reports to the Programme Director but will support other
team members on a daily basis.
What we are looking for
A motivated team
member with the following profile:
- Some practical events coordination
experience, e.g. internship, vocational training, etc.
- Strong interest in further
developing administrative skills in event management
- Very good time management
and coordination skills, ability to work under pressure
- Independent and pro-active
attitude, strong sense of ownership for assigned areas of responsibility
- Strong teamwork skills and
the ability to work with various colleagues on various projects
- Very good communication
skills, native level English essential
- Knowledge of and experience
in the civil society sector is an asset
- An insight into challenges
and opportunities of the civil society sector
- The opportunity to apply and

Working hours: 40 per week
Holidays: 26 p.a.
Salary: 2.000 - 2.300 EUR per month before tax, depending on experience
Term: 1 year with the possibility of extension
