DEAR COLLEAGUES, DUE TO A HIGH NUMBER OF INCOMING APPLICATIONS, WE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT ANY ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS.
From 09-11 May 2017 the International Civil Society Centre will hold a stakeholder workshop on the Civic Charter in Arusha, Tanzania.
The primary purpose of this meeting is to develop a joint Civic Charter campaign to strengthen civic participation around the globe. The approximately 30 selected participants from across the globe will have the opportunity to
- develop through several break-out sessions how to link respective activities using the Civic Charter to the global level;
- learn from experienced campaigners and activists already utilising the Civic Charter;
- exchange experiences in addressing restrictions to civic participation;
- create networks of shared learning and solidarity amongst each other.
This workshop will be the starting point for a long-term campaign for civic participation fuelled by the participants’ activities around the globe. In a co-creative process we will focus on developing action and tangible outcomes.
We are looking for motivated civic activists and CSO colleagues who are ready to join forces and work together using the Civic Charter for defending people’s rights to participate in shaping their societies.
If you are interested in joining our workshop please submit a short application via the below form by 22 March 2017. Limited funding is available to cover travel, visa costs and accommodation.
We encourage diversity and especially welcome applications from women and youth.
