Patricia Lustig and Gill Ringland, authors of the book New Shoots: People making fresh choices in a changing world, will run this workshop on how we can help colleagues with busy ‘day jobs’ to engage in conversations about the future.
This will be an interactive workshop with small groups of peers from the Scanning community. Similar tailored workshops have been well received by a number of organisations, including the Association of Professional Futurists.
By joining this workshop, you will help grow new shoots by:
- Sharing successes and experience – engaging others in foresight
- Approaches to engage others – some tools
- Bridging to people with ‘day jobs’ – the role of stories.

About our facilitators:
Patricia and Gill have written a number of books together as well as separately – and worked on projects together for clients ranging from the European Commission to a train leasing company. Both of them have held senior jobs in industry which has led them to understand the importance of foresight – not just to futurists but particularly to “people with day jobs”. To reach people with day jobs outside the foresight circle, they blog regularly, in addition to writing books.
