  •  19th September 2024
     2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

📅 19 September 2024 | 🕟14:30-16:00 CEST | 💻 Online |
Members of the Scanning the Horizon community come together for a workshop on participatory approaches for futures thinking.

  • Objective: The objective of the online session on futures gamification is to equip participants with the skills to play two engaging foresight games, which will serve as a practical tool for understanding key foresight concepts. Through these interactive games, participants will not only gain a deeper comprehension of foresight but will also appreciate the significant role that gamification plays in enhancing foresight practices. This session aims to demonstrate how gamified approaches can effectively foster strategic thinking and future planning in a dynamic and accessible manner.
  • What is gamification?: Gamification is the application of game-design elements, principles, and techniques in non-game contexts to engage and motivate people to achieve specific goals. In the context of futures thinking and strategic foresight, gamification involves using game elements to make the process of exploring and preparing for future scenarios more engaging and effective. By embedding game mechanics into foresight activities, participants are more likely to immerse themselves in the process, leading to a more meaningful and memorable exploration of future possibilities. A gamified approach makes the complex and often abstract concepts of futures thinking more tangible and accessible, encouraging deeper engagement, collaborative learning, and creative problem-solving.
