Meeting Concept and Draft Agenda

In 2021, the first Annual Meeting of the international civil society futures platform Scanning the Horizon will be split across five online sessions from 30th June-14th July, with some joint sessions with the Centre’s Leading Together convening.

Aims of the meeting

These events will bring Scanning community members together to:

  1. Learn/share more on experiences with and experiments for emergent strategy and anticipation for emergence
  2. Learn/share on models and tools for longer-term and inter-generational thinking, in combination with other global heads of HR, Programmes, Partnership, Policy/Advocacy
  3. Facilitate community/discussion on the new ideas and inspiration from this thinking, and the new Scanning sector guide on ‘strategy-making in a whirly world’
  4. Scope out ambitions, focus and clarify ‘futures’ added value from this community over the next 12-18 months on equitable/inclusive futures(anti-racism, decolonisation and feminist futures).

Format of the meeting sessions

With timings, it is unlikely that colleagues will be able to attend all sessions, so they will be recorded and made available for catch-up in advance of the subsequent sessions. Pre-recorded 10-15 minute presentations will be shared in advance for key content inputs, to allow for more interactive meeting sessions.
