Scanning the Horizon provides regular informal peer sharing ‘surgery’ sessions for ICSO global strategists to share ‘work in progress’ on strategy content, process or evaluation/learning, and/or other strategic initiatives to strengthen organisational scanning and futures capacities. This is a chance to present progress, seek feedback or share lessons and experiences with others, and a constructive, safe space to give your opinions and ideas on what you hear.
In this third session, we will hear from:
- Plan International is launching its new global strategy for 2022 to 2027, this July. Following nearly two years of trend scanning, and internal and external input, the organisation is building on the successes of 100 Million Reasons as it continues to strive for a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We will hear how key trends and a changing global landscape has shaped this process for Plan International.
- Wikimedia Germany is about to embark on a process for developing a new strategic framework. The current framework was developed before global movement strategy was introduced and a key challenge now is how to align a new national strategy with the larger movement one. Another process question is how to find the necessary time, resources and energy within teams to work on strategy after two years of the pandemic and also a year of change after the arrival of a new CEO.
