In 2022 the International Civil Society Centre launched a three-year initiative āAnticipating futures for civil society operating spaceā to strengthen anticipatory capacities and future readiness of civil society professionals who are working to defend civic and civil society operating space.
In the current phase of this initiative we will focus on developing future scenarios for civil society operating space by using a narrative, scenario-writing and signals-scanning method called ParEvo. ParEvo is a method of exploring alternative futures (or histories), using a participatory evolutionary process (hence ParEvo). The exercise will involve up to 15 participants from different countries, working collaboratively in an online platform. The outcomes of the ParEvo exercise will be documented in a report and the results will inform the next steps and follow-on activities which will aim at translating developed scenarios into concrete organisational strategies.Ā
