The global economy is undergoing a rapid digital transformation, reshaping industries, labour markets, and the nature of work itself. While digital technologies hold significant potential for boosting productivity and economic growth, they also risk entrenching existing inequalities and excluding vulnerable groups from emerging opportunities.

World leaders agreed that leveraging digital public infrastructure (DPI), enhancing digital skills, and supporting human-centric approaches to AI and innovation would foster sustainable development (SDG 8). The Digital Dialogue will explore the practicalities of such political declarations and discuss how digital innovation and AI can and should contribute towards the objective of decent work for all.

This Digital Dialogue will provide an opportunity to explore solutions for bridge between political commitments (for example taken by G20 leaders) and real-world impact. The panelists will outline, from a civil society and civic tech point of view, how digital transformation should become a force for equitable economic growth and dignified employment. The discussions will focus on concrete, actionable pathways to advance SDG 8 in the digital era.
