Earlier this year, the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva informed the public that hackers had infiltrated their systems. Hardly a week passes without new forensic evidence being published that somewhere on this planet journalists, activists, and civil society organization have been spied upon by using the Pegasus hacking software put on the market by the Israeli manufacturer NSO. But it can be assumed that this type of intrusion goes much further than the media headlines suggest.
